What is a pave setting?

Pave (or pave cut, or pave set) diamonds are tiny diamonds that cover a large area. For example, fifty-two pave-set round diamonds with a 0.50 total carat weight. The effect they create is truly sparkling.
Sometimes a ring, bracelet or pair of earrings is entirely pave. It can also be stunning when used to create a dazzling setting to show off a single stone, like a sapphire or ruby, in an engagement ring.
